After a beautiful drive and after finding our hotel our stomachs reminded us it was time for dinner. We walked around the tiny village looking for a good cafe or restaurant. In Europe they typically have the menu posted on the outside of the cafe. However, now that we were on Italian soil, the menu didn't mean much to us. We decided on a restaurant and walked in. Our waiter came over to greet us and then took us to our table, I then noticed a few differences between us. Our waiter wore a creased black suit with a bow tie. We were glistening with sweat from a long drive in the car, and we were still wearing our shorts, T-shirts,and sandals. Justin and I took a quick survey of our surrounding and we immediately felt under dressed and out of place.
Luckily, our waiter spoke English. Justin quickly apologized for our appearance's and asked about the menu. I tried to keep the kids from breaking the glass containers on our table, while Justin got a quick run down on the menu. For some odd reason Justin couldn't remember all 20 of the items that were rehearsed to him. Instead, we blindly pointed to something on our menu and hoped we did good.
We typically don't eat out with our children, especially at nice restaurants. We tried to keep the girls voices down to not draw any more unwanted attention to ourselves.
The surprise dinner finally came. Justin had ordered mozzarella and tomatoes, and I ordered a fantastic pasta dish, which we shared with the girls. Italians are known for enjoying and taking their time during meals. We did just the opposite. We ate and then left. Our waitor seemed a bit suprised we didn't stay for dessert or coffee. We didn't want a moment longer of humiliation.

Konigsee and a scenic drive, Day 2
We decided to take a short drive to Berchtesgaden. This is where Hitlers Eagle's nest is and the beautiful Konigsee. We decided to do a kid friendly activity and take a boat ride through the Konigsee.

Keanna is such a cutie.

sorry for so many family pictures (this will be a scrapbook someday :))

Some of my favorite people, my hubby and children.

Keanna did a good job taking our picture, don't you think?

Someone is not very happy. However, who could blame her? She just walked in front of Keanna's swing and got smacked. Ouch! Thats a hard lesson to learn.

Ayla's had had a difficult enough day so its time to hope on the boat and head back to our car. This is the Church of St.Bartholomew this was once a monastery and then a hunting lodge for the Bavarian Royal family.
We had a 3 1/2 our drive to the Italian Dolomites, check out our view

It was one incredible mountain after the next.

Salzburg, Day 1
To prepare for Salzburg I thought it natural to have us all watch the Sound of Music. Much to my pleasure, the entire family liked it. We couldn't help but hum the familiar tunes throughout the next couple days.
Before we got started on our tour of Salzburg we decided it would be a good idea to sit down, with a good view and eat some snacks.
I think Ayla was feeling a little sick this day. Either Justin or myself held Ayla almost the entire day. Carrying 30+ pounds around all day, shouldn't I have strong arm muscles? I guess all of that German chocolate is covering up those muscles.
This cemetry inspired Hollywood's cemetry on the Sound of Music. Here is Keanna giving her best hiding, I'm scared the Nazi's will get me look.
The girls enjoying a chocolate covered pretzel.
This red car, I think its a farari, stopped so Justin could take this picture. Justin took these pictures knowing Tanner would enjoy them.
The day has finally come to the end and Ayla is finally walking by herself. What a beautiful view.
