Ayla's Book

I recently started reading Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel. The main charachter is Ayla and I decided it was a must read, for this reason. When I opened the package, I told Ayla that it was her book. She took that quite literally. If she finds the book, she will hold onto it and carry it around the house. She will ask us to read it to her during reading time. I admit, it's been a little frustrating searching the house to find the book. However, at least she's taking an intrest in books :)

Bus Ride and Funny Ayla

Ayla is really growing up. Sometimes she says the funniest things.
If she burps she will say "I toot, in my mouth."
She's not afraid to say "you mouth stink." and then hands me a toothbrush.
If she is frustrated at someone she will exclaim "go to bed!"
At night we will walk past her bedroom and hear her singing to herself. She really is a funny girl
With the new baby on the way, we decided it might be time to have Keanna start riding the bus. We thought it would be good to have another option for travel. I was feeling a little sad about letting Keanna grow up. Keanna sensed this and asked why I was feeling sad. I explained to her that sometimes its hard to let your kids grow up. She responded by saying
"Mommy, don't worry, if I'm good, we can live together forever someday." How's that for an eternal perspective.

Keanna LOVES the bus and insists that she rides it to school every day. It works well for me and she only gets home about 15 minutes later then we usually do. Despite my doubts, I think riding the bus, will be a positive thing.

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful quiet Christmas at home. Emily awoke at the crack of dawn, ready for Christmas to begin. However, the girl's didn't wake up until 8:30!We enjoyed our traditional Egg Nog French Toast, cleaned up the kitchen mess and were ready for the fun to begin.
Keanna was putting the dishes in the dishwasher before I could finish my last bite. She was very excited.
Here we are waiting to unveil what Santa has brought us.

The magic of Christmas really comes back with young children. The girls squealed with delight with every present. It really was so much fun!

A girl can never have too many hair accessories. 1 head band, 2 bows in the front and 1 in the back.

By the looks of things, Ayla is ready to cook up some trouble.
Keanna sporting some of her Christmas loot. The look is completed with a horse sticker on her forehead.

We had a wonderful Christmas. We enjoyed every moment with our little family. We are truly thankful for all of wonderful, supportive family and friends. We miss you and hope you had a fantastic Christmas!
