HELP!
Every night, I lay in bed promising myself that I will eat better the following day. My good intentions, are quickly ruined by my ungovernable appetite.
Unfourtunately, my snacking consists of too much junk and not enough Healthy food.
This is where YOU can help out :)
WHAT HEALTHY SNACKS DO YOU LIKE?
I know I have a lot of health conscience friends out there, so help me out here! Please!

Well, like you I am a junk food lover, but for breakfast I like an apple, yogurt, and a handful of nuts. It is very filling but sweet. I would have a hard time if I was in Germany too. The food is just so yummy. Good Luck!
I eat alot of apples, dried bananas and....I think that is it. Hmm...I don't like yogurt cuz it makes me gag! BUT i do love dipping fruit into the yogurt! Like grapes and stuff like that!
Good luck!
I like to eat a big, crisp apple or veggies dipped in hummus. Also, I like celery and peanut butter or a slice of cheese with pretzels. Try combining protein with carbs and it usually sustains longer. I am never one to pass up the chocolate or any other kind of treat, though.
Well..if it's not brownies then, hummm V8 juice is a good one. Dom always told me to stay away from a lot of fruits and cheese...
I try to keep a bowl of grapes out, that way when I get hungry for something sweet that is the first thing I see. I haven't been as good during this pregnancy.
I'm not very good at healthy eating although I should know better...But here are some ideas:
Sun chips--less fat and actually some fiber unlike other chips,
a handfull of nuts, grapes, apples, multigrain crackers, yogurt, carrots...
The trick with the fruit and veggies is to have them out and ready. For the chips, nuts and crackers you need to take out a few and then PUT THE BAG AWAY. Otherwise I just keep eating.
I know I'm forgetting stuff, but I can't think of more at the moment.
Hummus and veggies. mmmm.
I don't have any new ones, but I will definitely second the hummus and celery with peanut butter. I also like to add a couple chocolate chips on top of the peanut butter if I really need a treat. I think hummus is best with cauliflower or pita bread! You look great!
I am not going to lie- I might be the worst eater you will ever meet ( I am currently eating sweet tarts laying in bed typing this... pathetic) but I have found that I just love to snack, so I have started buying the sunflower seeds that are still in their shells because it's got protein and stuff, but it takes effort to eat so you dont eat as much completely mindlessly.
The best thing though, is drinking tons of water. If you drink lots and lots of water you won't want sweets. I have tried it and it works- but life is so boring that way... ;)
Emily, I know you have got so many comments on this one but I find if you have stuff prepared like chopped veggies (carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumbers) waiting in the fridge it is easier to eat healthy. We have also dried bananas, apples, pears, pineapple, plums, apricots so good all natural sweetened. I also have a really great recipe for granola (very filling and very good and easy) I don't know if you like it though just let me know and I will send it to you. Love Marcella
I am most likely the WORST junk food junkie in the world. I have had a hard time getting the weight off after Ava and I've recently tried a renewed effort. Some of the things I have tried have been keeping pieces of turkey and low fat cheese in the fridge. It fills me up and I don't feel guilty. Dried fruit has also been a friend. And my favorite has been soy milk, a banana, frozen stawberries and/or frozen peaches as a smoothie.
I hate the munchies, but they love me. Post some things that are working for you! I love hearing what people are trying. Also, check out Natalie Vicker's blog. She just finished the 21 day cleanse and is trying all sorts of different things.
When I get a sweet tooth I try combining a few chocolate chips with a handful of almonds that I always keep in a container on my counter. The key is convenience.
