Poor Ayla

On Friday Ayla had her surgery. Ayla was the first patient of the day and she had her adenoids removed and had tubes put in her ears. When she came out of surgery she was half asleep, screaming and flinging her body all over the place. This was my first experienc watching someone else coming out of ansthsia. Ayla cried a lot and just wanted to be held. I am sooo happy we are home. Ayla's now just resting up. Poor Girl.

On a side note I miss American Hospitals!!! I miss a waiting area, comfortable chairs, not a cheap IKEA chair, food delivered to my room and most of all great service from nurses!!! A big thank you to all of those nurses who make going to the hospital, a better experience!!! I realized its the little things that make a big difference.

I need to charge my camera battery, I will put a picture up later.

Picture Perfect Prague

On Saturday we decided to make a day trip to Prague. Its a short 2 1/2 hour drive so we didn't do a lot of planning in advance. We were floored by the incredible beauty and a little dissapointed we didn't know about all the history that occured here. Next time we make a trip to Prague, we will bring our favorite tour guide, Rick Steves.

No, this is not a backdrop, its REAL!

Here is a picture of Justin and the girls. In the background you can see the famous Charles Bridge (built in 1347). A few parts of Mission Impossible were filmed on this bridge and around this area.

Here I am getting my workout for the day, pushing the girls uphill.

This is the girls taking a break from our long walk up the castle steps.

After hiking up the castle steps we reached the Castle's Gardens. The view was incredible. The pictures are an injustice to the beauty.

Here is Justin at the Prague Castle

"Are we done yet?" Wow, she looks tired doesn't she.

Dance Recital

Keanna had her first dance recital on May 17th! Last year she saw her cousin Brianna at her dance recital and from that moment has been wanting to dance on the stage! Friday night after we came home from the dress rehersal Keanna announced to Justin "I did so good, I didn't even fall off the stage!"

Poor Ayla was very sad to not be part of the excitment. I decided Ayla could also have a little lip gloss.

It's good to have friends.

Catching up!!

It was so fun seeing Jill. Its been 7 years. We met her and her "friend" at the Freiberg Temple(you will have to ask her). Afterwards we got some food and went to a park. The kids played and we played "catch up." It was so fun and I remeber why I like Jill so much.

Here are my cute girls playing by the fountain. Really, I just struggle making decisions on WHICH cute picture to post.

Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor

"Why are you here?" the doctor asked. "Ayla has fluid in her ears. Her language is a litte behind and the audiologist wanted me to..." The doctor interrupted saying "That's enough."

I clenched Ayla's arms and held her head with my other arm. The doctor tried to look into Ayla's ears, but she wiggled out of my motherly headlock. The doctor mumbled "let me show you how" as he pried my legs open, stuffed Ayla in between, closed my legs and proceeded with the checkup.

After looking in Ayla's nose, ears and mouth and reviewing previous notes from the audiologist he stated "She needs surgery." "Surgery?" I asked. He then proceeded to tell me about enlarged adenoids. I left feeling a little confused: what exactly are adenoids, is the surgery necessary and what would an American doctor say?

Since this experience I have talked with our American family doctor and have read up on Adenoidectomy. I have realized that Ayla could really benefit from this surgery. It could help her hear and sleep better. I decided to follow the doctors advice and to stuff wet cotton into my ears, to experience how Ayla heard the world. Afterwards, I scheduled an appointment for the surgery.

7 years and counting!

On May 1st Justin and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary. Justin brought home some flowers and we went to see a movie. We don't have many options here and we were delighted that a "chick flick" was playing on our anniversary, afterwards we went for a little walk and talked. It was fun just being together.

Over the past couple days I have realized that I have grown to love Justin so much more over the past 7 years. He is my best friend and I would rather be with him then anybody else. He has grown to understand me and know just how to approach me. I am such a lucky girl to be married to him!
